From the Archives: D. Putnam Brinley

This exhibit celebrates recent gifts to the Society of four works by D. Putnam Brinley. Three are drawings gifted by Robert Faesy, which were given originally by the artist to Bob’s parents. The fourth is a study for the painting “Emerald Pool” (pictured above), gifted by Robert and Susan Bishop.

D. Putnam Brinley was an impressionist and mural painter who, with his wife Katherine Gordon Sanger Brinley, were leaders in the Silvermine community. Both were listed in “Who’s Who in American History, 1961-1968.” This show celebrates their work and legacy.
