Information on Historic Homes

The Society is happy to receive calls about historic New Canaan homes. At any one time we are aware of listings of homes of the modern movement and of antique homes that are for sale in New Canaan. Please call the Society and ask for Janet Lindstrom for information on these homes. We can help both realtors and buyers with information on New Canaan's historic homes.

Architectural Preservation and Restoration Web Sites

The Historical Society is active in promoting preservation in the community. Materials on various opportunities to preserve historic properties, including our program to plaque historic houses, are available at the Society. However, the Society frequently receives phone calls from people with questions about both the historic preservation of old buildings and recommended ways to restore them. This new page has been designed to guide people to various web sites where these questions are knowledgeably addressed - and the benefits of so doing. We hope that exploring these recommended sites will be helpful to many and aid in the preservation of treasured old buildings.
