John Demos, author and historian, will speak about his award winning nonfiction book The Unredeemed Captive on Sunday, May 17 at 3:00 p.m. in the Library’s Adrian Lamb Room. The Unredeemed Captive was nominated for the National Book Award, the National Book Critics Circle Award, and was awarded the Francis Parkman Prize, an award given annually for the best nonfiction work of history on an American theme published the previous year. John Demos is an American author and hist
orian with a family history dating back to the early settlements of New England. He retired in December 2008 as the Samuel Knight Professor of History at Yale University, USA.
