Augustus Daggy (1858-1942), an illustrator and painter, settled in Norwalk in 1913. He became an original member of the Silvermine Guild of Artists. Richard (1892-1973), Augustus’ eldest son, was schooled in art by his father. His paintings, like his fathers, tend to be landscapes, but of a very different style. His medium was watercolor. Father and son share an affection for the energetic use of color and line.
In the show are oil and watercolor landscapes, along with a sampling of their art prints, illustrations and cartoons.
This exhibit will run until May 2, 2015 and is open to the public Tuesday – Friday 9:30-4:30 and Saturday 9:30-12:30. The exhibit is located in the Society’s Town House.
