My Impressions of the Hour

Author: Mary Margaret Corrigan
Annual 1998 Vol. XII, No. 1

A diary spanning 40 years in the life and times of Mary Corrigan who, beginning in 1898 taught at three of the local one-room schoolhouses. The intellectually curious girl delights in studying Latin, Greek and French with a “scholar”, and yearns to “occupy a high position” in a city school. Included are vintage photographs, along with a history of the Block House (now the Barnes House) where her family rented and farmed the 75-acre property.
