What was life like in New Canaan 200 years ago? Children ages 6-11 will find out each morning as they explore the museums, prepare crafts and tasty old-fashioned treats and play colonial games.

A story and craft program with a colonial slant, Spring Break camp will be available for children ages 8 through 11 years old. This program will run from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm on April 7, 8, 9 and 10th.
Each day, children will explore a different historical building on our property. Topics that will be covered this spring include colonial gardens and herb lore, colonial foodways, candle dipping and school days. Children will engage in arts-and-crafts projects, have a snack and play traditional colonial games. In addition, they will learn a little about how children lived in colonial times.
The program costs $25/session for members and $30/session for non-members. You must be registered by April 4th
April 7th: Colonial Gardens and Herb Lore
Create and bring home your own mini herb garden and scarecrow!
April 8th: Colonial Food ways, Pickling and Preserving
Make your own pickled vegetables, applesauce and butter.
April 9th: Candle-Making
Our ever popular candle dipping and hand rolled bee’s wax candles.
April 10th: Old Print Shop
Join us in our historic Print Shop – experience printing first hand, including making your own hornbook.
$25 per workshop for members. $30 per workshop for non-members.
