Lunch & Learn with the New Canaan Mounted Troop
Tuesday, November 17th
12-1 pm
13 Oenoke Ridge
New Canaan, CT 06840, USA
Bring your sandwich, soup, salad or snack and join us for a lunch & learn to discover the past, present, and future of New Canaan Mounted Troop (NCMT)—a nonprofit youth development and therapeutic equestrian center right here in our community.
Josie Hauer, President & CEO, and Caroleigh Evarts, Therapeutic Program Director, will share the remarkable evolution of NCMT, from its beginnings in 1939 as a Junior Mounted Cavalry chapter for local youth founded by Margaret Cabell Self, to the diverse organization it is today.
In 2012, NCMT expanded its mission to include Equine-Assisted Services and Therapies providing meaningful opportunities for children and adults with physical, emotional, intellectual, and developmental disabilities. Today, NCMT continues to grow its impact through Equine-Assisted Learning and Corporate Engagement programs, using purposeful, ground-based interactions with horses to help participants strengthen communication, build leadership skills, foster teamwork, and develop greater self-awareness.
Learn why, for more than 85 years, NCMT has been helping people of all ages and abilities build confidence, resilience, leadership, and connection—and creating a community where every participant feels valued, supported, and empowered to grow.
Mark your calendar and join us for an inspiring look at the many ways horses—and NCMT—are making a difference in our community and beyond.
